Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all — and neither is learning.
Healing Not Hurting University offers age-appropriate, healing-centered programming designed to help children, teens and adults better understand themselves, strengthen the way they communicate and build healthier ways of navigating life.
Our programs combine social-emotional learning, trauma-informed practices, reflection, conversation and hands-on experiences that make the work personal, practical and relevant.

Elementary School | Grades K–5
Sometimes children don’t have the words for everything they’re feeling yet.
Art for the Heart™ uses creativity, conversation and age-appropriate social-emotional learning activities to help children explore emotions, build confidence, strengthen communication and develop healthy ways to express themselves.
Through hands-on activities, students have opportunities to learn about themselves while practicing skills they can use at school, at home and with others.
Program Format: Multi-session series
Audience: Elementary students, grades K–5

6th Grade
Middle school changes more than a student’s schedule.
For many students, sixth grade brings a new building, new expectations, changing friendships, increased independence and a completely different social environment — all while they’re trying to figure out who they are.
The Destined to Reign™ Middle School Transition Track helps sixth-grade students navigate that shift with greater self-awareness, confidence and emotional tools.
Through honest conversation, reflection and interactive activities, students explore identity, self-worth, friendships, communication, emotions, decision-making and the challenges that can come with entering a new stage of life.
The goal isn’t simply to help students get through middle school.
It’s to help them understand themselves while they’re growing through it.
Audience: 6th Grade
Focus: Middle School Transition + Social-Emotional Development

Grades 7–8 | SEL + STEM
What happens when students understand not only what they’re feeling — but what’s happening inside their brain when they feel it?
Healing Brain Lab™ brings social-emotional learning and STEM together through interactive lessons and hands-on experiences that help students explore the connection between the brain, emotions, stress, behavior and decision-making.
Students don’t just hear “manage your emotions.” They begin learning why their brains and bodies respond the way they do — and what they can do with that information.
Through experiments, discussion, reflection and real-life application, students develop a deeper understanding of themselves while strengthening emotional regulation, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Audience: Grades 7–8
Focus: Social-Emotional Learning + STEM

A 36-Week High School Transition Experience Powered by Destined to Reign™
Ninth grade is more than another grade level.
It’s a transition that can shape the way students experience the rest of high school.
The 9th Grade Seminar is a full 36-week experience designed to support students as they move from middle school into the increased academic, social and personal expectations of high school.
Powered by the Destined to Reign™ curriculum, the seminar goes deeper — creating consistent space throughout the school year for students to develop emotional awareness, strengthen identity and self-worth, navigate relationships, build communication and decision-making skills, explore purpose and take greater ownership of the choices shaping their future.
Instead of waiting until students are struggling, the seminar gives them tools, language and support while they’re learning how to navigate this new stage.
Audience: 9th Grade
Format: 36-Week Seminar
Focus: High School Transition + Social-Emotional Development

Grades 9–12
High school students are making decisions about identity, relationships, independence, education and their futures — often while carrying experiences the adults around them know very little about.
Destined to Reign™ creates space for the conversations underneath those decisions.
Through social-emotional learning, reflection, honest conversation and practical application, students strengthen self-awareness, self-worth, emotional intelligence, communication, decision-making, healthy relationships, personal responsibility and their ability to envision what’s possible for their lives.
Programming can be delivered as a multi-session series and customized around the needs of a school, grade level or student population.
Audience: Grades 9–12
Format: Multi-Session Programming
A child’s emotional needs don’t begin in high school — and they don’t stay the same as they grow.
Healing Not Hurting University was designed to meet students across critical stages of development.

From learning how to identify an emotion to navigating identity, relationships, transitions and the decisions that shape their future, our programming can grow alongside the students we serve.

Supporting children also means supporting the adults raising them.
Healing Not Hurting University offers interactive workshops designed to help parents and caregivers better understand their children, themselves and the experiences that can shape what happens inside a family.
Our workshops create space for honest conversations around parenting, trauma, communication, emotions, behavior, relationships and breaking unhealthy patterns — without approaching parents from a place of judgment or shame.
Parents leave with greater understanding and practical tools they can use at home.
Workshop Offerings Include:
From Chaos to Calm
Helping parents better understand big emotions, challenging behavior, triggers and healthier ways to respond during difficult moments.
Trauma-Informed Parenting
Understanding how trauma and adverse experiences can affect children and how parents can create safer, more supportive environments for healing and growth.
Additional Parent & Family Workshops
Additional workshops are available around communication, emotional wellness, relationships, family patterns and other needs affecting today’s families.
Programs can be delivered as individual workshops or as part of a multi-session parent engagement series.
